One of the largest PFI projects, the new hospital has been completed in phases over the past 2 years. As an alliance partner, TC Fluid Engineering Ltd worked with main contractor Bovis Lend Lease and M&E Consultants DSSR Manchester, to provide the heating, DHW and humidification packages for the hospital.
The packages were fabricated off site to reduce costs and delivered to Mechanical Contractors Rotary North West which included:
8 no, 3.6 MW steam to water plate heat exchanger packages providing water at 90°C from 8 Barg steam, for Heating Services.
10 no, Laboratory Domestic Hot Water calorifiers.
8 no, Self Acting Steam to water shell & tube domestic water heaters.
Live steam Humidifier packages for 85 Air Handling Units.
The project has been commissioned in phases over the past 2 years with staff and patients now occupying the building.
